Because Archbishop Quigley is a Preparatory Seminary, we must prepare
our students not only for university studies, but for work in graduate school as well. With this in mind, our
academic standards are high. A minimum GPA of 2.2 is required in order to remain in good academic standing. The
course of studies at Archbishop Quigley challenges and provides our students with a strong academic foundation that
will prepare them for college.
Quigley graduates meet and exceed the admission requirements of the best
colleges and universities, and have been admitted to the best schools in the country. In their pursuit of academic
excellence, our students are actively engaged with an outstanding faculty.
Of our 30 faculty members, 21 have attained either a Master of Arts, Master of Science or Doctorate degree, and they
are constantly updating themselves both in their own fields of specialty and in education. With an average class size
of 20 students, the young men at Archbishop Quigley have the opportunity to experience and profit from individual
attention, as well as cooperative group learning. In addition to our outstanding curriculum, our best seniors are
offered the opportunity to attend Loyola University and earn up to six hours of college credit.
Archbishop Quigley offers Biology, Chemistry, and Physics laboratories,
two fully networked computer labs with state-of-the-art multimedia resources, and a library equipped with a
computerized reference system for easy access and research opportunities.
In addition to classes offered at Loyola University for selected seniors,
our academic program offers a comprehensive Advanced Placement College Credit Program to all qualifying students in
their junior and senior years. Over one half of our students in the Advanced Placement Program have been granted
college credit in course areas which include: Biology, Calculus, Computer Science, English, European History, Latin,
Spanish Language and Literature, and U.S. History. Some of our graduating seniors have earned enough college credit
through this A.P. Program that they begin their college career with sophomore standing.
