Mathematics Department
The main goal of the Mathematics Department at Archbishop
Quigley Preparatory Seminary is to prepare students to face the challenges of a new
millennium. To accomplish this, the department seeks to implement the Standards set by the
National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
The program of the department allows the student to develop at his own pace. The course offerings range from Algebra through Advanced Placement Calculus (AB sequence). Emphasis is placed on problem-solving and integrating technology both of computers and the graphing calculator. The Archbishop Quigley graduate will be able to solve unconventional problems in a moral way using the information available to him through the skills and technological expertise conveyed to him in his course of study.
