Physical Education Department


    Freshmen physical education is an introduction to individual sports and cooperative games with a brief introduction to competitive games. Freshmen classes meet 5 days per week for one semester. Supplementing this curriculum is an introductory health component which meets about once per week.

    Sophomore physical education includes a combination of individual sports and a more extensive exposure to team sports with an emphasis placed on skill development and team play

    The junior year physical education program is strictly devoted to team sports with individual sports being integrated into the program. The main objective of this year is for the students to develop the concepts of team work, cooperation and peer teaching. Physical education in the senior year is an elective. At the end of the junior year a vote is taken as to what courses will be offered during the senior year. After careful evaluation, a program is developed to suit the requests of the students. The four electives are as follows: Soccer, Basketball, Floor Hockey, Flag Football.
