The Quigley Chessnuts have had one of their best years yet. The Chessnuts are the #1 team in the Chicago Chess Conference, which includes other schools such as St. Pats, St. Ignatius, and Fenwick. The Chessnuts have the best boards in the conference. Mike Zigulich was 1st place board 1; Miguel Lopez was 1st place board 2; Todd Burkhart was 1st place board 3; Marco Cortes was 1st place board 4; and Jerry Del Real was 1st place board 5. On the state level, Quigley is 10th place among all the schools and 1st place among all Class A schools (schools with enrollment below 750.)
