William T. Corcoran, Ph.D.
Quigley South 1973
Rev. William T. Corcoran was
ordained a Roman Catholic priest for the Archdiocese of Chicago on May 13, 1981. He served as Associate pastor at Sacred Heart
Parish in Palos Hills (1981-1987); faculty member at Quigley Preparatory Seminary South
(1987-1990) and resident at St. John Fisher Parish (Chicago); associate pastor at St. John
Fisher Parish (1990-1992); Dean of Formation at Archbishop Quigley Seminary and resident
at Christ the King Parish (1992-1997); and associate at St. Margaret Mary Parish
(1997-2001). He currently serves as pastor of
St. Linus Parish (Oak Lawn), and is Vice-Chairman of the Archdiocesan Priest Placement
Board.
A
graduate of Little Flower Parish grade school and Quigley Preparatory Seminary South High
School, he received both his Degree of Bachelor of Arts, Honors, Cum Laude and Degree of
Master of Arts, in History, from Loyola University of Chicago in 1977. He earned the Degree of Baccalaurate of Sacred
Theology, Magna Cum Laude (S.T.B.) in 1979; the Degree of Master of Divinity, Summa Cum
Laude (M.Div.) in 1981; and the Degree of Licentiate of Sacred Theology, Summa Cum Laude
(S.T.L.) in 1983 from the University of St. Mary of the Lake. He received his Doctor of Philosophy in history
in 2003 from Loyola University.
As a faculty member at Quigley
South he taught history and reading, and while at Archbishop Quigley he coached the speech
team as well as holding the position of Dean of Formation.
He is a member of The Archbishop James E. Quigley Society.
Fr. Corcoran served as a member of
the Archdiocesan Presbyteral Council (1982-1986 and 1994-1998), and on council task forces
on Social Security Issues and the Tax Status of Priests.
He currently serves as Chairman of the Association of Chicago Priests (ACP)
and as a board member of the Chicago Interfaith Committee on Worker's Issues.
