Mark J. Teresi

Teresi sm.jpg (42772 bytes)           Mark Teresi has been the Vice President of Institutional Advancement at the University of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary since 1999.  In that capacity, with the Board of Advisors, they are completing a $9.7 million campaign to expand the Feehan Memorial Library.  He had been the Executive Vice President of Development at Mercy Home for Boys and Girls for the prior five years where he established the Major/Planned Giving Department.   He also served as head of the Seminary Development Office, Planning Consultant for the Archdiocese Offices of Communication and Development, and Dean of Students and administrator at the college seminary.  His parish ministries (leadership facilitator, cantor and teacher) have included St. Zachary, St. Paul of the Cross, St. Clement, Old St. Patrick's, and St. Josaphat.  He is presently a full time cantor at his parish - St. Hilary.
          After graduating from Quigley North, he entered Niles College Seminary of Loyola University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in theatre.  In 1982 he received a Master of Pastoral Studies in religious communications/mass media from Loyola University.  While working on the IPS degree, Mark's internship was at WLS-TV "Seven on your Side," consumer division.  He pursued a Master of Arts in Organizational Development, which he received from Loyola in 1985.  Mark also earned accreditation in 1995 as a Certified Fund Raising Executive from the National Society of Fund Raising Executives.
          As a consultant, several highlights for him include working with Fr. Jack Daley and Fr. John Klein on the start-up of Archbishop Quigley and its Board, as well as traveling for three years to a mission in Chilapa, Mexico as planner for the mission team, and finally, assisting the Board Partnership.  His previous board involvement includes Chairman of the Board of the National Catholic Development Conference, the Institute for Spiritual Leadership (Hyde Park), Brother Rice High School, and Theatre by Design.
          From parish minister to college seminary administrator to college instructor and seminary development director for all three seminaries, Mark has merged the best of business principals with the mission of the local church.  His efforts and work have been recognized by many organizations.  He received the Service Award from the Catholic Women of Park Ridge (2001); the Past Chair Award from the National Catholic Development Conference (2000); the alumni Wall of Fame Award from St. Joseph Seminary (1998); the Chilapa Mission Award from the Mission Partnership Board (1993); and the President's Medallion from Loyola University (1977).  In 1994, both he and his wife, Mary, were the recipients of the Coordinating Board Award from the Association of Chicago Priests.
          Mark has been married for 22 years to Mary Conley and they have four children:  Matthew (16), Marty (14), Consuelo (13), and Dulce Maria (9).
