Reverend Thomas A. Tivy

Fr. Tivy
was ordained to the priesthood on April 28, 1962 for the Archdiocese of Chicago. He attended St. Mary of the Lake University where
he received his Bachelor of Arts in 1958 and then his Master of Arts in 1961. After studying in Rome at the Pontifical Lateran
University, he received his Licentiate in Canon Law Degree.
After ordination, he was appointed
an associate pastor at St. Lambert, in Skokie, where he served until1966. From 1968 to 1988, he worked at the Metropolitan
Tribunal while assigned to St. Hilary on the northwest side of Chicago, St. Gregory (1976
to 1988), and St. Sylvester (1982-1985).
In 1985, he was named pastor of Our
Lady of Grace and served in that position until 2002.
While at Our Lady of Grace, Fr. Tivy was named as Dean for Deanery 3A
(1996-2002). He was appointed Vicar for
Priests in 2002, a position that he held into 2004. Fr.
Tivy is currently the Administrator at Resurrection Parish.
Fr. Tivy is a board member of the
Association of Catholic Priests and is on the Archdiocesan Personnel Board. The Association of Catholic Priests honored him
with the Pope John XXIII Excellence in Ministry Award.
