On Monday, June 10, 2002, the James E. Quigley Society will be hosting its annual golf outing at Edgewood Valley Country Club. There will be an auctions for various prizes, such as Golf Packages at Premiere Private Clubs of the Chicagoland area, and two (2) tickets to the Masters Practice Round in Augusta, Georgia. There will also be a Raffle, with prizes such as a set of golf woods and dinner for Four at Cafe Luciano.
All proceeds from the event will endow scholarships to the Archbishop Quigley Seminarians in honor of treasured alumni and past Society members:
So come out and help support the James E. Quigley Society and Quigley. In addition, come and honor the 4 Quigley students who will be receiving the James E. Quigley Scholar award this year; Ryan Banea, Paul Heiberger, Juan Huerta, and Terry Pawlowski. Come, maybe improve your golf game and have fun.

The James E. Quigley Society
The Archbishop James E. Quigley Society is the vehicle for the seminary to honor and recognize its alumni, parents and friends who significantly support Archbishop Quigley Seminary's mission and goals. The Archbishop James E. Quigley Society members are the hose people who are most closely associated with the seminary through unrestricted support of the annual fund with and investment of $1,000 or more.
The James E. Quigley Scholars
Ryan Banea is president of Asian Seminarians In Action, a school group that celebrates Asian heritage, faith, and culture. A member of the National Honor Society, He serves as its treasurer this year. He worked hard this year to collect toys at Christmas at the Catholic Charities Toy Shower, and canned goods in the spring to help feed Chicago's hungry. In an effort to continue to serve God's people, Ryan plans to become a nurse. Ryan hopes to attend the Nierholf School of Nursing at Loyola University.
Paul Heiberger is the co-president of the National Honors Society, editor-in-chief of the year book, and captain of the cross-country team. An active participant in the activities of St. Paschal's parish, he has traveled with the parish and with Quigley on various service pilgrimages. Next year he will join his brother David, also a Quigley graduate, at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus as microbiology major with a minor in philosophy, while he actively continues the discernment process for priesthood.
Juan Huerta speaks English and Spanish fluently. He uses these gifts in relating to and communicating with the students when teaching his catechism class at his parish. Juan has been a member of the National Honors Society for three years. He also been on the baseball and basketball teams for four years. Last summer Juan traveled to Lourdes, France to help the ill and disabled. Juan and his parents are enthusiastic, active, members of their parish Our Lady of Guadalupe. Juan has been accepted to St. Joseph's College Seminary; he continues to discern God's call in life.
Terry Pawlowski has been involved in a number of co-curricular activities at Archbishop Quigley, in addition to excelling academically. A four-year volleyball player, Terry has also been a member of the forensics team, mathletes, WYSE academics team, Classics club, Talon Newspaper staff, Latin Honor Society, and National Honor Society. Terry was named an Illinois State Scholar and received Honorable Mention status on the 2002 IHSA All-State Academic-Athlete Team. Terry plans to attend either Grinnell College of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the fall.
