The N.L. Central.Pictures & Facts

The Chicago Cubs are located in the National League Central. Other teams in this division are the Cardinals, Astros, Reds, Brewers and Pirates. This year it has been a good first half for the Cardinals and Reds. The rest of the teams are playing below what the usually do.  

St. Louis Cardinals

  Right now the Cardinals are leading the division because they have Albert Pujols ( pictured below) and good starting pitchers. The also have one of the best closers in the league, Jason Isringhausen. Last year the Cardinals made it  to the N.L.C.S. were they lost to the runners up in the World Series, the Huston Astros. The Cardinals are very dangerous. With there hitting it is easy to make a comeback and with there relief pitching they don't give up a lot of leads.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Albert Pujols has been having an incredible year other then the fact he is hurt.

Houston Astros

The Houston Astros are looking good being only 5 games out of first place and tied with the Milwaukee Brewers. To tell you the truth the Astros should be in first place. The Cardinals have lost there last 7 but the Astros have the same record in there last 10, 3-7. In Roger Clemens last game he looked pretty sharp but as usual getting no run support. Lance Berkman has been having a decent season but it is below par for him. Last night he even got thrown out of a game for arguing but with this dangerous Astro team I wouldn't be able to sleep if I was the Cardinals. The Astros also have one of the best closers in the big leagues, Brad Lidge. Brad Lidge is a great closer.

Cincinnati Reds

The Cincinnati Reds are looking good being only 1 game behind the mighty Cardinals. The have finally got there pitching to play well and they are hitting as always. They have Austin Kearns, Adam Dunn, and Ken Griffey Jr. If they stay healthy I would be surprised to see the Reds, yes the lowly Reds make it to the playoffs And maybe even contend for the World Series  if they pick up a pitcher or two before July 31st.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chicago Cubs 

The Cubs are looking horrible they are 14.5 GB of the Cardinals and only 3 games ahead of the lowly pirates. The cubs should be doing really good. They blame everything on the injuries of Mark Prior, Derek Lee, and Kerry Wood. Mark Prior and Kerry Wood don't even have winning records and Kerry Wood is back on the Dl. St. Louis lost Albert Pujols and I don't see them crying about there injuries I mean there in 1st place!!! Dusty Baker is the worst manager in the majors and everyone still says " In Dusty we trusty" that has to change was about this phrase "we have a losing record all but one year Dusty was her so lets get Lou Pinnela".

 

Milwaukee Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers are having an unbelievable season. It is not like 120-62 but it is good for them. The are doing better then Houston, Chicago, and Pittsburgh. Two of those teams lead the division in the last 5 years. They have a chance to make the playoffs they just have to get hot for a week and two and have to hope that the Cardinals stay cold for that period of time. They are who I'm cheering for in the N.L. Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pirates are just being the Pirates. That is all i have to say about them.
