 Below are sample entries for the Works Cited page.  They are based on the style format listed in the book MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers by Joseph Gibaldi (Modern Language Association, 1999, 5th ed.) Remember that bibliographic citations are a systematic method of telling your readers/listeners where you found information, and the order of author, title, and publication notes should guide all your citations, whatever the format of the information.

BOOKS

Author's/Editor's Last Name, First Name  Middle Name.  "Title of chapter if book is a collection of different authors." Editor or translator. Title of book.  Edition. Vol. No. Place: Publisher, date. Page numbers of article.

Generally -  Author's name. Title of Book. Place: Publisher, date.  are essential.
