Regional Competition

"Certamen" means "contest" in Latin. The contest is a "college bowl" type competition. The competition is sponsored by the Illinois Classical Conference. It is divided into 3 districts: Chicago, Northern Suburbs and downstate. The local competition takes place at different host schools, 3 times during the year. There is a regional competition with the top winners in Novice (Latin 1), Lower Level (Latin 2) and Upper Level (Latin 3, 4, and 5) divisions. Quigley has hosted one of the local competitions for the past 2 years.
In the cumulative score of the local competition, all three Quigley teams took 3rd Place. Ten teams participated on each level, including St. Ignatius, Jones Magnet, Payton Magnet, and Lilncolnway East.
