Quigley Supports Orphanage

The orphanage celebrating mass

Every Lenten season, the Quigley community opens its heart with renewed effort for the missions.  This year, we targeted the orphanage, Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos, run by Father Philip C. Cleary ('79) in Cuernavaca, Mexico.  Father Phil has about 1,000 children who depend on him and his staff for all their needs: spiritual, educational, and physically development.

Two orphans at CuernavacaThe Quigley community was very generous in its support of Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos for Lent 2002.  At our Ash Wednesday Day of Reflection, Father Hurley explained the wonderful work being done there for the parentless and forgotten youth of Mexico.  During Lent our students and staff raised over $2, 400 for this work.  Quigley's target was $2,000.  Leading the students were the seniors who earned a make-your-own-sundae treat for their generous contributions.

If any alumnus or visitor would still like to help our effort, we will be happy to forward your gift.  Just make your check out to Archbishop Quigley with an indication that you intend it for the Cuernavaca Orphans.  For more information, please email Mr. Ray Schuman, the director of the Mission Drive at Quigley.
