The students of Archbishop Quigley Preparatory Seminary and St. Scholastic High School will join each other in a walk from Quigley (103 E. Chestnut, Chicago) to Our Lady of Mount Carmel (690 W. Belmont) to raise funds for the tsunami wave victims. Students obtain pledges for their walk along the lakefront from friends and neighbors. At the end of the walk they will enjoy a picnic on the front lawn of the rectory. Two hundred tickets to the Cubs game that afternoon are available to the first students who submit their pledge sheets and money. Tickets have been allocated with half available to each school. Good luck to these generous students in their efforts to help the victims of this horrible tragedy.

Details:
1)         The effort consists of our walking from Quigley along the lakefront to Our Lady of Mount Carmel rectory. The walk is about 4 miles. We leave about 10:00 a.m.and should get to the rectory about 11:30 a.m.
2)         Each student is required to sign up pledges and collect the pledges for his walk for a total of at least $25. It is not our intention to reach into you or your parent's wallet. If you ask friends, neighbors, and relatives you will find they will be most generous.
3)         As a reward for participation, we will have a picnic on the grounds of the rectory (Father Peter resides there so he will be our cook and host). Also to encourage early returns of your pledges, the first 100 students who turn in at least $25 will get a ticket to the Cubs game to be played that day at 1:30 p.m.  Wrigley Field is a short walk from the rectory. The game is against Philadelphia.
4)         Students will receive a pledge sign-up sheet with their name on it. Turn in the sheet with the pledge money to be eligible for the tickets and other incentives. In any event, students will be required to return the sheet by the end of the drive.

Last year a similar event, with only about half the school participating, raised about $2000 for the missions. With the needs of the victims so great and pressing, let's make this an outstanding display of the Quigley Family's concern and resolve to help.
