Help for the Children of
Nicaragua
Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos
Mr. Jim Gerros
(at left), a Quigley
alumnus, recently spoke with the Quigley senior class about his work in
Nicaragua with Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos. He spoke of the orphans there
that he and others were helping there. He asked the seniors for help in
collecting rubber bed sheets, Spanish children's books and cash donations.

A typical Nicaragua mission 2001
In response, the Senior Class Mission Committee was formed by seniors Terrance Chatman, Ed Grochowiak, Matt Heinrich, Mike Hernandez, Kevin Lowe, Mike O'Leary and Brad Zamora. They established a one week fund-raising campaign with the goal of collecting $1,000 from Quigley students, faculty and staff. The campaign was a success with $1,552 collected. Mr. Jim Gerros accepted the donations at a Quigley Mass, and thanked everyone for their generosity.
