Worldwide Youth for Science and Engineering

Quigley had an impressive 1st place victory at the Regional level and an equally impressive 3rd place win at the Sectional level of the Worldwide Youth for Science and Engineering Competition (WYSE). With these impressive wins, Quigley once again earned the right to compete in the Illinois Statewide Finals at the University of Illinois in Urbana on Monday, April 8, 2002.
The WYSE Academic Challenge competition is an educational contest open to all High Schools and High School students in the state of Illinois. This competition is staged on three successive levels, intended to give motivated High School students a chance to compete and be placed in seven academic areas: Math, English, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Fundamentals, Engineering Graphics, and Physics. Schools and individuals that place in the top two of their category are invited to advance to the next level.
Out of all the schools competing throughout the state in the Division 300, Quigley placed 9th for the entire state! Quigley also had two individuals place in the top six statewide for their respective categories:
