John Liston & Mr. Schuman receiving the Mission plaque

At the December sit-down luncheon the Quigley community was presented with a plaque for its second place finish in donations to the Propagation of the Faith for the 2000-01 school year from the Mission's Office. Quigley students and staff contributed $7,500 to world mission activity which came to about $37 per student with an enrollment of 210. Finishing in first place for Catholic high schools for the second consecutive year was St. Barbara High School.
Quigley gets second place for the Mission Drive 2000-01
Receiving the plaque for the community was Missions Drive coordinator, Raymond Schuman, and student coordinator, Junior John Liston. Last year the senior coordinators during the drive were Matt Walsh and Mario Borha. The fund raising events for the year include the usual dessert sales in the cafeteria during the lunch periods, the occasional grab bag gifts donated to the mission drive, the Lenten activities of the Lob and level jars. The major money raiser was the marathon walk to the major seminary in Mundelein in the spring when walkers sign up sponsors for their two-day walk.
